Fui operado de hernia discal lumbar por Dr. Gilete en Febrero. Debido a mi inestabilidad vertebral, tuvo que realizarme una fusión vertebral L4-L5. La verdad es que he recuperado la fuerza en la pierna y además el dolor de espalda ha desaparecido. Si lo llego a saber, no hubiera esperado tanto en operarme. Me operó el Dr. Gilete el pasado mes de Junio de dos hernias discales lumbares. Tanto la operación como la recuperación fueron más rápidas de lo que me esperaba. De hecho enseguida recuperé la fuerza que había perdido en la pierna y empecé a caminar. Ahora camino entre 4 a 5 km sin problemas! El dolor en la pierna y en la espalda han desaparecido. Estamos muy contentos de la profesionalidad y trato recibido por parte de Dr Gilete. En cuanto a la las instalaciones nada que decir ya que son conocidas por la calidad que ofrecen. Dr Gilete, from the moment I made contact, had a reply so rapidly, I felt he was positive, trusting, professional, understanding, empathetic to my personal situation. I needed specialist surgery in a country that was not me own and he made it simple. Dr Gilete made me feel safe in Barcelona from the moment we met in person in our consultation, right through the operating stage and the final moment of discharge from Hospital.

I have a genetic condition that affects the support to all of my joints, so it’s safe to say I’ve seen a lot of Dr’s over the years and had some major surgical procedures carried out. The best standard of care from start to end has to be from Dr Gilete and his team.  I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat!

I would just like to send you a note to thank you for the service that you have provided in respect of my recent medical condition.
Your staff are very professional and very attentive.
Despite my very limited language skills they made me very welcome and were very clear with their instruction and general guidance.

Maria in particular was very clear with the instruction on what documentation I needed, where I needed to report and all follow-up was always prompt and very comprehensive.

I would also like to specifically mention the service provided by Kathryn. As a nature English speaker yet fluent in both Spanish and Catalan she was an absolute god-send.
When you mentioned this service to provide a personal ´guide/companion’ to help with the administration and support for the planned appointments I did wonder whether it would really be necessary as Maria’s instructions were very clear. However, in hindsight, I am so glad I did agree to pay for Kathryn’s service because without her I would have been lost trying to explain to the various reception desks why I was visiting and who I was scheduled to see. Kathryn contacted me before each appointment, confirmed the arrangements as per Maria’s prior notification and was always on hand to meet me at the allotted time and place and then show me exactly where I needed to go. More so, she was there to dispel any concerns and was quite the carer in her attentiveness and support during the medical procedures. It is a fantastic service and one I would recommend to any non-Spanish speaker should they have similar medical appointments.
To this effect I am copying my HR colleagues for their information and attention of this service that you offer to non-native speaking ex-Pats in Barcelona.

Finally, I would just like to extend my sincere thanks to you personally for your care and attention.
It has proven difficult for me to find a doctor here that I could trust but that is now a thing of the past.
